New, Renewed, or Repaired

Factory new Prius hybrid battery replacements are guaranteed for life at Motorcells.  Not only that, we offer a battery buyback program if you car fails for other reasons, but your battery is still good. New Prius batteries cost the most, but last the longest.Renewed (refurbished) batteries typically carry a 3-year warranty and contain many if not all new battery cells and some replaced parts. Renewed Prius batteries cost a bit less than new, and will typically match the remaining life of your car.Repaired prius batteries carry a Motorcells 90-day warranty and are meant to get you back on the road in the most cost-effective way possible by switching out poorly performing cells and a few other important processes, including load balancing.  However, depending on the model year, this can be a less reliable alternative – as other cells can go bad in the future. Repaired Prius batteries cost the least, but offer variable longevity based on the year of the vehicle.

Product Details (2001-2015) – Prius Replacement Battery

The Toyota Prius (2001-2015) uses a Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) battery pack located beneath the rear seat. This battery pack consists of 288 individual NiMH cells, arranged in 28 modules. The entire pack delivers a total voltage of 277.2 volts and a capacity of 6.5 amp-hours.

The primary function of the Prius NiMH battery is to assist the gasoline engine in powering the electric motor, significantly improving fuel efficiency. Additionally, it captures and stores regenerative braking energy generated when the car slows down or brakes, further enhancing efficiency.
