Your hybrid battery's out. Or the dash is lit and you're not sure.

What should you do first?
- Get the codes. Yourself with an OBD2 reader, or free at AutoZone or O'Reilly.
- Don't buy a pack off the lights. Codes first.
- Call or text. Year, make, model, ZIP, and the codes. Or the quote form. If it has to be towed here, we arrange and schedule that first.
Write the codes down. Then talk to us. Not the other way around.
How do you get the codes?
Dash lights are a warning. They are not a diagnosis. An OBD2 reader is how we know if it's the hybrid battery or something else.

A reader you can order
Skip the $12 "ELM327 Mini" clones. They often pair and still miss hybrid codes. You need an adapter that talks to the hybrid computer, plus an app. On a Toyota or Lexus, that's often Dr. Prius. For codes on other makes, Car Scanner or Torque.

What codes mean the pack?
P0A80 is not a Toyota secret. It is a shared SAE code that means "replace hybrid battery pack." Many Honda and Ford hybrids throw it too. Codes still vary by year and model. A code is not a receipt for a new pack.
Toyota / Lexus — P0A80; often with P0A7F; P3011–P3024 (a weak block)
Honda (newer HEV) — P0A80 on many Insight, CR-V, and Accord Hybrids
Honda (older IMA) — P1449 and P1570. Civic Hybrid, older Insight, CR-Z. P1449 is an umbrella — the sub-code matters.
Ford — P0A80 and P0A7F on Escape Hybrid and other Ford HEVs
Hyundai / Kia — P0A80 / P0A7F plus their own family: P1A2E, P1B70, P1B74, P1B96. The P1Bxx set is often a sensor or imbalance issue. The pack is not always the fix.
Write the codes down. Then call. Don't shop a pack off one number.
What if the codes say it's the pack?
Three options. Not every car gets all three.
The card wording lives on the home page. Lifetime coverage is on New. Other terms stay on those cards, and on the Motorcells warranty page.
You pick after the codes say it's the pack. Not before.

Who does the work?
The dealer will often quote a new pack and a tow. A national dispatcher hands you to a third party.
We're a locally owned Indiana shop. Not a dispatch network. Drive to Noblesville, or we come to you when the car qualifies.
If it won't move, we can take a tow. Only if we arrange and schedule it first. Don't send a truck unannounced.

Common questions
Do I need a new pack if I have P0A80?
Not automatically. P0A80 means the computer wants the pack replaced. We still read the rest of the codes and confirm it's the pack before you pick a tier.
Can I get the codes for free?
Yes. AutoZone and O'Reilly will scan for free. That's the fastest path if the car is sitting tonight.
Will you come pull the codes?
Yes. We can come to you. Or you can come to Noblesville. Some models are shop-only for the install.
Can I tow to Motorcells?
Only if we arrange and schedule it first. Don't send a truck unannounced.
Do you work on Honda, Kia, Hyundai, and Ford?
